The "Tungsten Electrode Rod and Tungsten Grinder" generates an arc between the tungsten rod and the workpiece in an inert gas that does not react with metals at high temperatures, and welds using the heat produced. Among tungsten electrode rods, the 2% thoriated tungsten contains 1.7% to 2.2% thorium (ThO2), is suitable for direct current, has a lower electrode temperature, and exhibits minimal melting into the base material.
